It seems that every coach has “Enterprise Agile Coach” on their LinkedIn profile and when they talk about their background, you feel a bit surprised that they weren’t on the invite list to Snowbird, UT when the Agile Manifesto was first codified.

The truth is this, there are good coaches who have only been coaching for a short time. There are also a lot of people out there that attended a 3-day training class after having no agile experience, passing a certification exam, and then hanging their shingle out.
It’s imperative for organizations to learn the right questions to ask and how to understand the answers when recruiting coaches. Agile coaching is more about the person than it is about the resume.
